Detectives are renewing their appeal for information after a man was bitten on the face at a fried chicken shop.

The 24-year-old from Colchester was bitten at Southern Fried Chicken in St Botolph’s Street at 3am on Thursday, February 13.

Investigating Officer, Dc Andrea Ford, said: "There were a dozen or so late-night revellers who were eating at tables inside the fried chicken shop when this attack took place.

“It began inside the shop and then spilled out onto the street.

“The Royal Military Police did initially detain a man outside, but he was released after it was indicated that he was not responsible for the assault.

“As well as him, we would like to speak to those who were eating inside.”

A 30-year-old man from Darlington is currently on police bail until April 8.

Anyone with information is asked to call Colchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
