A FORMER building society is set to be converted into a funeral director’s shop.
Nationwide shut its branch in Brightlingsea High Street last summer.
The move came despite a campaign by residents, businesses and local politicians to keep the bank offices open.
However the site has now been sold to the East of England Co-op which plans to re-open it as part of its funeral service.
The Co-op said it was now considering what to do with the current funeral service shop in the town.
