RESIDENTS have been urged to check their gardens for an air gun thought to have been used in an attack in Clacton.
Police believe a weapon, thought to be a pistol, was used in an assault on a 24 year old man on Thursday.
Officers think the pistol was discarded following the incident, which happened in Alton Park Road.
And they have launched an appeal for nearby residents in Ford Road, Alton Park Road, St Osyth Road, Watson Road, Old Road, Priory Road and Leas Road to check their gardens.
Anyone who finds the weapon should call 999 and avoid touching it.
Two men have been arrested following the incident and one man has been charged with possession of a firearm, intent to cause fear of violence, assault causing actual bodily harm, and assault by beating.
