TWO robbers snatched handfuls of mobiles phones and left staff terrified in a raid on a Clacton shop.

The men walked into the Carphone Warehouse store at the edge of Brook Retail Park in Clacton last week.

One of the crooks distracted staff by engaging them in conversation, while the other robber walked straight to the staff room door and kicked it open.

The first man pushed the two staff members into the room at the back of the shop before raiding the Carphone Warehouse store room with his partner.

They grabbed several phones from the store room before fleeing through a fire door at the back of the shop.

Staff at the store were not hurt but were left shaken by the incident.

It happened just after 5pm on Wednesday February 19.

The first man is described as being mixed race with a round face and about 5ft 9ins tall.

The second man was white, slightly taller than his accomplice and wearing a black beanie hat.

Anyone who saw the crooks or has any information about the incident should call Sgt Phil Terry or Det Con Emma Benyon at Clacton police station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
