A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm after another man was shot in the neck with an air pellet.

Armed police and the force’s helicopter were called to Alton Park Road on Thursday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police said the “disturbance” started at about 2.50pm.

She said: “A member of the public had reported seeing a man with what she described as a handgun and a fight taking place.

“A man was located with a minor injury caused by what was thought to be an air weapon.”

He is thought to have suffered a pellet mark on his neck.
