AN anti-NekNomination video made by a Brightlingsea father has attracted thousands of hits.
Edward Archer, 26, of Colne Road, made the video last week to warn people about the dangers of the internet craze, which has so far claimed the lives of five British people including former Colchester schoolboy Isaac Richardson.
The video shows Mr Archer, who has two young daughters, mixing a potentially deadly cocktail which includes about half a pint of straight spirits.
He tops it up with floor cleaner, washing up liquid and fabric softened, as well as some more unusual ingredients including mustard, honey and mango chutney.
Then, speaking to the camera, he says: “We’ve had people drinking stuff like this and it’s killing people.
“The cleverest thing you can do with this is exactly what I’m going to do – straight down the drain.
“If you value your life you’ll do the same.”
Mr Archer’s original video has 2,766 YouTube hits and the second, a clean version without swearing, has a further 1,443.
On Facebook, it has 8,325 likes and has been shared 42,928 times.
