A WOMAN has been raped in a garden in Marks Tey.
 

Detectives have released a CCTV image of two potential witnesses they would like to speak to following the attack.

The victim, aged in her 40s, was raped in a garden off London Road, near Mill Road, in the early hours on Sunday, February 2.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "During the course of their enquiries, detectives have been examining CCTV footage which has captured two young women on Colchester High Street at 2.30am on the Sunday.

"These two individuals are potentially key witnesses to the ongoing investigation as it is believed that they spoke with the female rape victim earlier.

"One woman is described as having blonde hair and is carrying a pink handbag while the other woman has dark hair and is wearing a blue dress."

A 28-year-old man from Clacton was arrrested on Tuesday on suspicion of rape.

He has been bailed until May while investigations continue.

The two women in the CCTV image or anyone who knows them is urged to contact detectives at Colchester’s Sexual Offences Investigation Team on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or email the incident room SOIT@essex.pnn.police.uk

Anyone else with information about the attack are also urged to call with any information which may help.
