A CANCER-FIGHTING fundraising group has raised more than £56,000 for charity.
The Colchester local committee of Cancer Research UK held a number of events through 2013 to raise the cash.
Events included a quiz night, the annual Summer Ball, a Pink Night and carols, and the total collected for the charity was £56,800.
Formed in 1962 by Roy Chapman the group has raised more than £1.1million in its 52-year history, and to this day Roy is still involved.
The group was presented with a certificate of achievement at its AGM on February 6.
