Young farmers are rallying around to support their counterparts in Somerset.
Ed Ford, vice chairman of the Essex Young Farmers group, has organised a Forage Aid collection which has seen hay, straw and animal feed sent in from across the county.
There is already 10 lorries worth, which Tesco has agreed to deliver to the Somerset levels on Monday.
Mr Ford, 23, of Childerditch, Brentwood, said: “We were at a national Young Farmers meeting and the Somerset vice chairman got and gave a plea for help and then burst into tears, the situation is that desperate.
“If we were in a muddle they would help.”
Once the water clears a team of Essex farmers will travel to Somerset to help with the clear up.
Donations are still being made and anyone wishing to take part is asked to contact Mr Ford on 07885 911068 or email ef@childerditch.com
