LITTLE ones have been helped on their way as they prepare to start school in September.
Children from Ardleigh Pre-School have been presented book bags to help them prepare for primary school.
The bags are made up of a reading book which they chose themselves, as well as a reading record, which parents can use to note which books their child has read.
The pack also contains an ‘anything book’, which has plain and lined paper so children can write, draw, scribble or even stick photos.
Jenny Scofield, business manager at the pre-school said: “The book bag and its contents are designed to mirror primary school practices, as the children will receive a book bag from primary school in which they will have a reading book, a reading record and other exercise books with homework tasks.
“Having already experienced these at pre-school, the children will be familiar with the process and it helps with the settling in during the transition from pre-school to primary school.”
