WORK on short-term improvements at notorious danger junctions on the A120 will start in the first week of March.

The Highways Agency announced plans to introduce a temporary reduced speed limit of 50mph along with safety cameras near the Harwich Road, Park Road and Pellens Corner junctions in September 2013.

Work on these short-term improvements is expected to start during the first week of March 2014 and will include installing new signage as well as average speed cameras.

Visibility on the approach to the Park Road junction will also be improved.

Andy Jobling, Highways Agency Asset Manager, said: “Safety is our top priority.

“Since September we have been working hard to develop plans for these improvements, which will help to improve road safety until a longer term solution can be delivered.

“We would like to thank residents for their continued patience through this period and through the work which will start in March.”
