MEMBERS of the county's police and crime panel are meeting today to vote on whether to increase council tax.
Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alston has called for a rise to help reduce the effect of Government funding cuts on police officer numbers in Essex.
The panel will also be discussing police pensions and budgets for 2014/15.
The meeting, which is open to the public will begin at 2.30pm today at County Hall, Chelmsford.
