A CHARITY fun run will be hitting the streets of Harwich.

Harwich and Dovercourt Rugby Club is teaming up with the Harwich Runners to organise a Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on March 23.

The Sport Relief Games, held every two years, sees thousands of people across the country swim, cycle or run to raise money for disavantaged children in the UK and across the world.

Trevor Armstrong, secretary of the rugby club, said: “We held the Sport Relief mile in 2012 and it went really well, we raised in excess of £15,000.

“It’s a fun run and it’s for everybody.

“We have one, three and six mile courses to ensure disabled people and children can all take part.

The route starts at the Low Road rugby club and goes along the Dovercourt promenade.
