Two teenagers arrested following attempted bookies robbery

Gazette: Two teenagers arrested following attempted bookies robbery Two teenagers arrested following attempted bookies robbery

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a botched robbery in Witham.

The arrests followed a successful police appeal after an attempted raid at Ladbrokes, in Newland Street, on January 7.

A female member of staff was assaulted by two people during the incident, before they ran out empty-handed.

The boys, aged 15 and 17, and both of Witham, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of attempted robbery.

They were later bailed until April 7, pending further enquiries.

Assuming that they are the people who carried out this violent attack and are found guilty, due to their ages, these two little hooligans will have their names protected by the courts, they will get an insignificant sentence - ASBO, community service, suspended or at most a few weeks in a young offenders institution.

Then they will be back in our town, probably boasting about their exploits and how they are "untouchable" by the police and courts, and most likely commit even more, and more violent, attacks.
