Gazette: Businesses must lead Hythe regeneration Businesses must lead Hythe regeneration

HYTHE businesses must be at the heart of reinvigorating the area, according to the man leading the former port’s regeneration group.

The Hythe Forward group was formed by community and business representatives last year in order to create a plab for the area.

Now it is holding its first business event to encourage more firms to work together.

Cyril Thomas, Hythe Forward director, said: “We see a pressing need for local business to be at the heart of regenerating the Hythe because they know what’s required to attract investment and build prosperity.

“That’s why we need a strong voice for the Hythe business community.”

The event takes place on Thursday, February 6, from 7pm at Colchester Business Centre, in Hawkins Road. To attend, call Andy Oppe on 0795 8180968.

The hythe above all other areas with in Colchester has the potential to bloom.
It already has a train station, good road access, a quay and accommodation.
If they can get industry and shopping with in the area, then it could become the new town centre.
