AN eco-friendly refurbishment of a Colchester sheltered housing scheme has won a business award.
The refit at Worsnop House, carried out by Colchester Borough Homes and Colchester Council, was the winner of the efficiency and innovation in property prize at the Colchester Business Awards.
The Sixties house, last refurbished 15 years ago, has solar thermal and solar panels which pre-heat water for heating and generate electricity for lighting.
It was part-funded by £415,000 from the European Regional Development Fund.
