A BURGLARY victim has hit out at callous thieves who stole sentimental items which had belonged to her late mother and grandmother.

Crooks forced their way into her family home in Coppins Road, Clacton, by smashing through a back door.

They took more than £550 in cash, jewellery, cameras, bank cards, gift vouchers, a television, and a mobile phone.

Nurse Mandy Graham, 53, said the burglars took her mother Rene’s and grandmother Daisy’s wedding rings, as well as cash that was being saved up to celebrate her husband Vic’s 60th birthday in a few years time.

She said: “My husband is upset they have been into our home, but I just can’t stop thinking about the things that belonged to my nan and mum that are lost.

“They also took a General Nursing Council badge.

“These people are scum these things are huge sentimental value to me and cannot be replaced.

“I feel quite bereaved as it has brought back the loss of my mum, who died eight years ago from heart failure.

“On a bad day I would put on her rings.”

Mrs Graham added the burglars also took a freshwater pearl necklace that was bought for her silver wedding anniversary ten years ago as well as a large silver St Christopher’s medallion bought for her husband.

The burglars also stole two voluntary medical service medals which were presented to the couple after more than 20 years of service with the Red Cross, as well as diamond rings, a gold love knot ring, a freshwater pearl necklace and a silver ring set with a sixpence piece.

The crooks also caused £700 damage to the door and frame.

Detectives said the break-in happened between 8.20am and 6.20pm on November 21.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Det Con Emma Beynon at Clacton CID on 101.
