Man found on railway tracks with burnt foot

A man was airlifted to hospital after he was found on the railway line with a burnt foot.
The British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the line close to Witham station after a report of a man on the tracks at 11.50am today.
Essex Police officers were also in attendance.
A BTP spokesman said: “The 29-year-old man was taken to the Royal London Hospital by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service to be treated for burns injuries to his foot.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man came to be by the track and officers are currently working to ascertain how he became injured.”
