Answer to a prayer for church charity

A CHRISTIAN church that runs a community charity has opened its new centre.
Stillwater has moved from its rented base in Brook Street to a bigger and better home Whitehall Road, Colchester.
Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell opened the new building, which is set to be more than double the size of its previous premises when finally complete.
Steven Oladipo, minister at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, said: “The new building is fantastic.
“We bought it and had it brought up to scratch.
"It took about six to nine months to do and we have only done part of it.
“We had to make sure it was safe for us and so people feel comfortable.”
The charity has gone from four rooms to six, with another six set to be created in the second phase of the refurbishments.
It has office space, a kitchene and multi-purpose rooms for different organisations to use as well as a main hall for church services.
“It’s not just about the building,” Steven added.
“It’s about doing things for the community.”
Stillwater runs community and charity projects including Care and Share, ministering in the community and charity events.
They help youngsters with life problems, elderly people, those needing food and the homeless.
