A MAN has appeared in court accused of six counts of rape.
Michael Spree, 41, of Pondfield Road, Colchester, denied the charges when he appeared at Hereford Crown Court.
He is accused of sex attacks on two female victims.
The offences are alleged to have taken place when Spree was a teenager - in 1987, 1989 and 1990.
They are understood to have occurred in the Hereford area.
Spree was bail until his trial on June 23.
Spree’s mum appealed for help to find her son in January last year.
Eve Page, who was living in Wivenhoe at the time, said he had been missing since his dad Tony died in April 2007.
He was working for a breakdown recovery company in Clacton and living in Great Bentley when he went missing.
Mrs Page said Spree, a dad-of-two, disappeared after he was discharged from a hospital in Colchester.
She said he grew up in the Midlands but later moved to the Colchester area.
