Council pays out £543K in compensation
8:57am Monday 21st October 2013 in News
TRIPPING up on potholes, falling off trampolines and injuries from water sliders are just some of the claims which led to Colchester council dishing out more than £543,000 in compensation.
A freedom of information request has revealed that in the past five years 259 compensation claims were made, 79 of which were successful.
A third of the claims were for slips, trips and falls.
Others included an eye injury from a broken light bulb, scolding from hot water, an electric shock and a dog which was left with an injured foot from a piece of broken glass.
