Buyers could save 200 jobs at Colchester call centre

Hundreds of threatened jobs at a Colchester call centre may have been saved.
A buyer has come forward with an offer for the brokering side of Equity Insurance Group which was put up for sale in the summer.
- A woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of a car after it crashed into a road sign on the A120 at Frating late at night.
The woman, who was a passenger in the car, suffered neck injuries while the driver was unhurt.
- Teenager Michael Lock has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after his collided with a roadsweeper in Bromley Road, Colchester, last year.
Joshua Irvine, 18, of Canterbury Road, Colchester, who was a front seat passenger in the car, died in the incident.
- Teenage magician Joe Pyelade pulled a special trick out of the hat when he qualified for the final of the Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year.
Joe, 13, from Tiptree, wowed the judges in the semi-final by stopping time and will now compete in the final in London.
