A TEENAGER is due in court next month charged in connection with a fatal smash in Colchester almost a year ago.
Michael Lock, a 19-year-old engineer, of Cowdray Avenue, Colchester, will appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
The collision happened when a Citroen Saxo and a road sweeper collided head-on in Bromley Road shortly after 1.30pm on November 8 last year.
Budding marine engineer Joshua Irvine, 18, of Canterbury Road in the town, was a front-seat passenger in the Saxo.
He was certified dead at the scene.
The driver sustained a variety of injuries and is now recovering at home.
Lock is due to appear in court on November 5.
