AROUND 200 jobs at a Colchester call centre may have been saved.
The brokering side of Equity Insurance Group, based at Equity House by North Station, was put up sale in the summer.
If no buyer came forward, between 150 and 200 jobs would have been lost and the landmark building left empty.
However the firm has announced that NMG Holdings, based in Singapore, has come forward to buy it.
Martin Goss, Mile End ward councillor, said: “As a former employee, this is very good for Colchester and safeguarding the future of many jobs.
“I am pleased this is moving forwards in a very positive way.”
