10:17am Friday 11th October 2013 in News
TENANTS in Monkwick picked up handy money-saving tips from Colchester Borough Homes.
An afternoon of workshops and information gathering was held at St Margaret’s Hall in Stanstead Road for tenants and leaseholders.
They learnt how to customise shopping bags, knit, make cards and become a savvy shopper.
There were also visitors from welfare rights advisors, Love Food Hate Waste, the National Anti-Loan Shark Campaign and Colchester Credit Union.
People attending were asked to get involved in Colchester Borough Homes, either by becoming a mystery shopper or taking part in a survey.
Chief executive Greg Falvey said: “We hope these everyday money saving tips will have a positive impact on our customers’ finances, whilst having a bit of fun along the way.”
The “Big Event on Tour” will visit Greenstead Community Centre on Saturday, October 26.
