A MOTHER took on her greatest running challenge by attempted a half marathon to raise cash for the hospital unit that cared for her son.
Kerry Borg, 44, of Myland, took part in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on Sunday.
She raised money for the children’s unit at Colchester Hospital, which has been looking after her son Charlie, nine, since he was born.
Charlie suffers with talipes, also known as club foot, a foot deformity where the foot points down and inwards.
Mrs Borg, who works for a law firm in London, said: “We spent quite a lot of time [at the hospital].
“It seemed a good way to give back and help other children who go to there.”
Despite an injury, she managed to complete the race in two hours 17 minutes, raising £556 for the charity.
