More than 1,000 members of staff at Colchester’s hospitals have had the flu jab as part of the NHS’s latest campaign.
Occupational health nurses set up clinics at Colchester General and Essex County Hospital, vaccinating 1,297 employees against the illness.
Later this month they will visit community hospitals in Clacton and Harwich.
Sheila Boyle, head of health and wellbeing at the trust, said: “Flu targets people who are weakened and vulnerable, so it’s crucial the NHS does everything it can to keep the virus away from patients.
“By having our vaccinations, we protect ourselves, our patients, our friends and our family.”
