Stabbing accused in court
4:30pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
A MAN has appeared in court following the stabbing of a Special Forces soldier in Colchester on Saturday.
James Martin, 36, entered no plea during a short hearing at the town’s magistrates’ court yesterday.
He is accused of grievious bodily harm against friend Losko Keirin outside Martin’s home in Speedwell Road.
The court heard Mr Keirin received a single stab wound above the heart but the injury missed all his vital organs and was not life-threatening.
Magistrates granted Martin bail to his brother’s address in Marks Tey, and under the conditions of his bail he is banned from entering Colchester beyond Eight Ash Green except for appointments with his solicitor.
- He will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on December 16.
