In today's Gazette:
- A heroic woman rushed to help a man lying in a pool of blood in the street after being stabbed. Carla Skinner, who found the victim in Skelmersdale Road, Clacton, said: "It was horrific."
- Vandals have destroyed a sand sculpture within hours of it being unveiled.
The sculpture, of a fat lady in a deckchair, had taken Nicola Wood three days to create on Frinton's Greensward.
- Two men were stabbed in a disturbance which saw six people arrested.
Police were called to Fore Field in Braintree after the incident broke out and residents said they saw a woman and two men carrying iron bars and smashing up a car.
- A stink has made an unwelcome return to Colchester's Hythe - despite Anglian Water spending £25 million to eradicate it.
