In today's Gazette:
- A man led police on a high speed chase through Colchester with two children in the back of the car. Justin Cartwright, 24, of Hunwicke Road, Colchester, drove the wrong way on a dual carriageway, hit speeds of up to 80mph on a narrow B road and jumped red lights.
- A brave student is being rewarded for championing the fight against bullies - after she suffered at their hands for years. Emily Davis, 16, is working with the Diana Awards charity's anti-bullying programme and urged any youngsters being bullied not to suffer in silence.
- A war veteran's service medal was snatched from his uniform while he was paying tribute to fallen soldiers at a memorial service. The ex-soldier, who is in his 70s, was attending the Battle of Britain memorial service on Clacton seafront when the thief struck.
- Police have launched an investigation after racist vandals covered an underpass in Colchester with vile hate messages and swastika symbols.
