4:29pm Monday 23rd September 2013 in News
SPECIALIST divers are searching a Colchester lake for the weapon believed to have been used to kill Kirsty Humphrey.
The 23-year-old mum was found dead at her home in Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, on Wednesday, September 4.
Her partner Mark Czapla, 24, also of Queen Elizabeth Way, has been charged with murder and will appear in court again in November.
The Essex Police marine unit was called in to search Bourne Pond, near to where Czapla used to live in Montgomery Close.
They began on the Stalin Road side yesterday and are expected to spend several days trying to gather evidence as the investigation continues.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Bourne Pond is being searched by specialist dive teams in connection with the inquiry into the murder of Kirsty Humphrey."
