A post mortem examination gave the cause of death as suspension.
Police and paramedics were called to a flat in Avon Way shortly before 6pm on Thursday, September 12.
Mr Harvey was declared dead at the scene.
Windows at the flat had been smashed and the tenant was not at home.
Two days before his death he was stabbed in an alleyway in Colchester near his home.
Mr Harvey was on bail at the time of his death on suspicion of a number of drug offences following at raid at his home in July.
Essex Police will continue to investigate the stabbing and the drugs raid to help provide information to the coroner on events leading up to his death.
