Lollipop lady post faces axe in Brightlingsea
A LOLLIPOP lady has been axed from a busy crossing point in Brightlingsea.
County Hall took the decision to cut the crossing patrol, in Ladysmith Avenue, after the original lollipop lady stepped down.
The move has angered schools, parents and safety campaigners who have called for the decision to be reviewed.
Essex County Council has agreed to re-evaluate how busy the crossing point is after the first evaluation was carried out before reception class children returned to school, and the schools were initially told a different crossing was affected.
