Colchester's first ever Mindful festival hailed a success

A COLCHESTER festival which aimed to make everyone attending feel a little happier has been hailed a success.
Around 2,000 people came to Castle Park on Saturday for the first ever Mindful Festival, organised by mental health charity Colchester Mind.
The aim was partly to raise awareness about how common mental health problems, and partly to give everyone a good time with live music and a host of stalls and entertainment.
Local bands including Killamonjambo, Surfquake and Rebels of Rock agreed to play for free, while youngsters could trace their hands and then write five things they liked about themselves.
