Andy wants people to use his new loo invention
11:00am Friday 13th September 2013 in News
AN inventor wants 50 Colchester residents to take part in his water-saving project.
Andy Ruddock, of West Mersea, has created the Ezy-Peezy, a small dome attached to the inside of a toilet bowl.
When someone wees on it, the bacteria neutralises the liquid, cleaning the inside of the bowl and reducing odour.
It means you do not have to flush the toilet so much.
It has been trialled in 3,500 Mersea Island homes over the summer and Mr Ruddock wants Colchester residents to do the same.
He will give away the Ezy-Peezy gadget to the first 50 applicants.
They will be asked to fill in a sheet to record how many flushes it has saved.
The results of the Mersea Island trial are due to be published by Anglian Water shortly.
