A MATCH may have been made in heaven with a course for couples run by a church - and a coffee shop.

It’s led by Bethel Church, Stanway, and Costa Coffee in Colchester’s Lion Walk, for married or co-habiting couples, who sense trouble could be brewing, or need to give things another shot.

It is the first time the seven-week marriage course - which costs just £20 - has been held at the town centre coffee shop.

Couples from the Colchester area are invited to treat the sessions as ‘date nights’ and will be given tips on what makes a marriage grow, by its course leaders, husband and wife Maarten and Sarah Westera.

Mr Westera, also a church leader, said: “We’re very excited about this new partnership and to make this available to more couples to have the opportunity to invest in their relationship as well as celebrating their love for one another.

“The break up of a relationship can be one of the most devastating things we experience and traumatic for the whole family. The Marriage Course provides practical tools which can prevent this from happening.”

Sessions will include a Costa drink and cake and will typically involve a film being shown.

The courses start on Friday September 27, at 7.30pm.
