A FAMILY have paid tribute to their beloved Kirsty who lit up their lives until she was killed.

Mum-of-one Kirsty Humphrey, 23, of Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, was found dead at her home on September 4.

In a joint tribute her mum Nicky Humphrey and her mum’s partner Michael Plane said: “A light went out the day when Kirsty died.

“She was a beautiful person who was happy and always smiling.

“Kirsty loved her baby daughter so much and was a truly caring mum who always put her first.

“Kirsty wasn’t just my daughter she was my best friend and I am so proud to have been her mother.

“The lives of my family and friends have been shattered, along with Kirsty’s friends, and will never be the same again.

“But in your memory we will care, guide and look after your darling daughter who is so much like you.

“We will tell her about you every day.

“My darling Kirsty we will miss you so much and I can’t wait until we will meet in heaven one day where I can hold you in my arms for ever.”

Her sister Danni described how the rooms lit up when she entered.

She said: “Kirsty was liked by everyone.

“She was beautiful and would never leave the house without looking her best.

“She was an amazing person to be around and never failed to make me smile.

“She was my shoulder to cry on and I just cannot believe I have lost my big sister.

“Only a few weeks ago we were laughing together.

“I may have lost my sister but heaven has gained another angel and the sky another star.”

And step brother Jake Plane, spoke of the fun they had together.

“You’ve been a massive part of my life since our parents got together,” he said speaking directly to her.

“I could always open up to you and tell you everything.

“You were the first person to get me drunk.

“I will always remember when you were pregnant with your baby and came in the front room and said, ‘the Space Raiders are mine – nobody touch them!

“Two weeks later they were all gone!

“I blamed Danielle when it was me and you and then you just laughed you head off.

“I always saw you with a smile on your face.

“Your daughter is in safe hands, we will look after her.”

Mark Czapla, 24, has been charged with her murder and remanded into custody.
