Daybreak and the Dorchester beckons for our "Health Hero" Sarah
8:00pm Thursday 5th September 2013 in News
A “HEALTH hero” who spends almost every waking hour looking after children with learning difficulties has reached the final three of a national award.
Sarah Harris, 26, of Wivenhoe works full time Monday to Friday at Market Field School as a learning support assistant.
While most would put their feet up at the end of a tough day, Sarah spends every weekend and three or four nights a week taking children to youth clubs and events or caring for them at respite and residential homes.
Ros Johnstone, whose severely autistic son Charlie, 17, has been taught and looked after by Sarah for nearly a decade, decided she deserved recognition and nominated her for the annual WellChild awards.
Next Wednesday night, Sarah and Ros will join WellChild charity patron Prince Harry and other nominees at the swanky Dorchester Hotel in London where she will discover whether Sarah is the chosen Daybreak Health Hero.
