Braintree: Islamic centre upgrades security following attack
1:00pm Sunday 8th September 2013 in News
An Islamic centre, targeted in a smoke grenade attack, has spent hundreds of pounds improving security.
The front door of the Al-Falah Braintree Islamic Centre in Silks Way, Braintree, has been reinforced and CCTV cameras and a key code security system has been fitted.
The centre was also added into routine police patrols, along with other Essex mosques and centres, during the month of Ramadan between July and August.
The upgraded security follows a smoke grenade being launched into the centre on May 22 by Geoffrey Ryan who also threatened a centre worker.
