Town support brings Mitch and Mitch back to air
5:00pm Thursday 29th August 2013 in News
A FATHER and son DJ team taken off air following a complaint about blue language on their show have returned following a flurry of support from town residents.
Mitch Hayworth and Mitchell Graham, better known as Mitch & Mitch, were unable to perform their Saturday night show on Radio Wivenhoe for six weeks after a listener complained about a song featuring swear words.
They were immediately the subject of a campaign which featured a tongue-in-cheek protest at Wivenhoe Quay, where supporters held up posters saying: “Down with this sort of thing” - a reference to Channel 4 comedy Father Ted.
Last Saturday night ‘Mitch & Mitch Picks’ returned to the internet - with a proviso they did not discuss the incident leading to their suspension.
Mitch Senior, 53, and Mitchell Junior, 15, said they were thrilled to be back on the air.
