Young and old to open new medical centre
YOUNG and old patients will open a new medical centre in Colchester.
The Abbey Field Medical Centre, formerly Mersea Road doctors' surgery in Colchester, has moved to its new based in Ypres Road.
The practice moved earlier this year but will officially open on September 7.
And the practice’s longest serving patient Peggy Austin, 88, who has been at the practice for 73 years, has been given the honour of opening it, along with the young winners of a colouring competition.
The new centre has ten consulting room, including a minor surgery suite, and provides medical care for 11,000 patients.
The public is invited to attend the open day from 10am until 2pm. For more details call 01206 517100.
