Priory Street home plans deferred
A DECISION on plans for nine new homes in central Colchester was deferred by councillors.
Developers have submitted proposals to build two houses and seven flats on the former Watt’s stone masons’ yard off Priory Street.
Colchester Council’s planning committee asked for the design to be tweaked to make the plans more acceptable for neighbouring homes after nearby residents said they were not opposed to development in principle at the site but were worried about the size of the plans and how close some of the buildings were to existing homes.
The committee voted five to three to defer the plans last night and asked officers to consult with the developers in a bid to address the issues raised.
