Reading challenge success at Greenstead Library
YOUNGSTERS have been turning pages at Greenstead Library during the holidays as part of the annual Summer Reading Challenge.
More than 600 children have taken part in the spooky mystery at the library over the summer break, with each reading six books or more.
Creepy House, aimed at younger children, allows them to collect smelly stickers for each book they read and complete a poster, while older children work on Mystery Street, where they not only read books but also write their own short story and a book review.
If they complete the challenge youngsters also get a medal or certificate.
- The challenge continues until September 2. For more information on the Summer Reading Challenge visit the Essex Libraries web page.
