Car wash and bacon sandwiches raise cash for hospice
1:00pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in News
Staff at a homeware store in Colchester washed cars and sold bacon sandwiches to raise cash for charity.
Nash Homeworks in Conder Way collected £200 as part of St Helena Hospice’s £50 challenge, in which groups are given £50 to put on an event to raise as much cash for the charity as possible.
Director Donna Nash said: “We feel St Helena Hospice is a fantastic charity.
“The day was great apart from the rain in the morning.
“Everyone was really generous for the small amount of people who attended.
"We were a little disappointed in the number of cars but we had a fantastic day and everyone stayed for a while for a chat and something to eat.”
