POLICE have arrested 26 people from across Essex, Kent, Suffolk, West Midlands and east London for criminal activity at V Festival in Chelmsford.

20 of these were for drug possession, one each for drug-dealing and rowdy and disorderly behaviour, two for drink driving and two for theft.

Policing co-ordinator, Chief Supt Andy Prophet, said: "The festival has a reputation for being one of the safest on the summer calendar and Essex Police is working with the event organisers to ensure it remains that way.

"If you coming to V to commit crime, then be warned. There is an extensive array of CCTV cameras as well as my officers, private security patrols, drug sniffer dogs and a range of other undercover activity all designed to catch you.

“Festival-goers are urged to keep themselves and their property safe by following the crime prevention advice promoted by Seymour on the Essex Police website and Twitter account.”

Anyone who experiences crime at the festival can report it to Essex Police at the mobile police station or by calling 101 or 999.

Hurry up Beyonce! Thousands are waiting

9:08pm

It's heaving by the main stage. Who's headlining again?

9:08pm

Just got doused in cider listening to Not 19 Forever, but that doesn't matter. What a tune and atmosphere at 4Music stage

8:38pm

Think it's raining but really can't tell as Courteeners are superb

8:18pm

Decided to watch The Courteeners before Beyonce on 4Music stage. Someone just set off a smoke flare thing. It's like watching a football match on continental Europe. Top atmosphere!!

8:11pm

Beyonce due on in about an hour but people already making their way to the  main stage to get a good spot. Script on for a little while longer so that'll be good

Paloma Faith currently rocking the Virgin Media stage. Good voice. Crazy lady

3:44pm

I'm having slight worries with my Internet connection, but obviously not as much ad the clothing vendor who nearly ran into me like a headless chicken trying to get a chip & pin machine to work

3:37pm

Rain falling over Hylands. Umbrellas and macs (the waterproof type, not the computers) going up

3:21pm

Due to Beady Eye & James Arthur both pulling out there's a few changes to 4Music stage line up and timings, so keep that in mind if you're coming to Hylands

3:16pm

Jus saw a woman wearing a Pringles baseball cap. Winner of hat of the day

3:15pm

It's annoying to queue up for the portaloo's only to see people jumping the queue. Thought us Brits liked a queue

3:06pm

Usurprisingly the glee tent is overflowing with audience members as Eddie Izzard comes on stage. Standing room only

2:38pm

Eddie Izzard due to perform in a few minutes. Comedy legend and member of Chelmsford Park Run this morning

2:37pm

Rumours someone from Geordie Shore is at V. Just seen a load of young ladies leg it over the field. Guess its one of the blokes

2:25pm

Lead singer of James (don't know his name, I'm only 26) is wearing grey track suit trousers. Just lounging around

2:23pm

James on main stage playing Sit Down. Bit of a tune!

1:58pm

Not that I'm getting drunk, but I can confirm the main bar queue is moving swiftly

1:29pm

Really good vibe here in Hylands at the moment. Plenty of wellies in show. I'm just in converse, which will probably end up being a mistake later

1:13pm

Although I have not been to V before, I do have a hilarious V story involving a mate. Few years ago he went to buy four tickets for Hylands, then somehow bought eight for Weston Park. All on his mum's credit card. She was not happy

8:43am

8:39am

I'm getting ready at home as I live near to Hylands. Wonder how campers get ready for the day. Is it no shower, deodorant wash or baby wipes?

8:30am

8:21am

Watching BBC Weather report. Looks like rain is going to be over Hylands mid afternoon today followed by a couple of showers tomorrow

8:16am

I have re-created the entire experience at home. I threw a tiny tent onto a wet muddy patch, shat in my wellingtons and placed a badly tuned radio barely visible right at the end of the garden. I've arranged for the neighbours to throw bottles of **** over the fence and put the sprinkler on full blast.

There, several hundred Pounds saved.
