A CYCLIST struck by a lorry has thanked passing soldiers for giving him First Aid.

Kieren Pratchett, 18, was knocked off his bike by a BT truck in Ipswich Road.

He was knocked out cold but a convoy of soldiers, stuck in the ensuing traffic, came to his aid on the road side.

The road near Waitrose was closed by police for more than an hour while paramedics treated him, at around 8am on Thursday, March 21.
