Clacton: Thug leaves man with serious head injuries
5:41pm Sunday 10th March 2013 in News By Andrea Collitt
A MAN is in hospital with serious head injuries after an unprovoked attack in Clacton.
The thug set repeatedly upon the man in Carnarvon Road between the Moving Places and Jigs premises, around 7.15pm on Saturday.
The ambulance service was called for the victim, aged 50.
He is in a stable condition in hospital.
The attacker is described as a white male, aged 25, of medium build, and 5ft 7ins tall.
He was wearing a light-coloured coat with black patches and a light-coloured hat. He was clean shaven and wearing trainers and is reported to have left the scene in the direction of Hayes Road.
Det Con Claire Lukey, of Essex Police, said: "This would appear to have been an unprovoked attack on the victim who has been further assaulted when he was on the floor. If anyone has information which could assist our investigation we would ask them to call Clacton CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
