Essex wakes up to Mother's Day snow

MOTHER'S Day snow showers hitting north Essex this morning are set to continue throughout the day.

The maximum temperature should reach 3 degrees centigrade.

The weather so far has not resulted in any serious road collisions or major disruption to travellers.

Although trains are likely to be running at reduced speeds.

Snow flurries look set to continue overnight and into tomorrow.
