Police praise sentences for Colchester's drive-by criminals

THE sentences handed out to the Colchester's drive-by shootings have been praised by the detective in charge of putting them away.

Dean Edwards, 39, of Convent Garden, Braintree and Michael Cooper, 40, of Russell Road, Clacton, were jailed for a total of 21 years for their parts in the drive-by shooting in Queen Street.

Det Con Stuart Jones said: "It is a great result particularly given the serious nature of the offences.

“It shows gun crime won’t be tolerated and I am very pleased with the sentence.

“It is a sad thing to have not found the gun and take it off the streets but we are doing all we can."

The police make me laugh, when they don't get it right they blame the CPS, the CPS then say lack of evidence because the police failed to do their job properly! But it does not show gun crime will not be tolerated because if it did they should have got life and take them off our streets for good!
