Car causes crash after swerving pot hole

A CRASH may have been caused when a motorist swerved to avoid a pot hole.

Police are investigating an incident in Chappel Road, near Bures, at 5.55pm on Saturday, March 2.

A Ford Fiesta left the road and struck a tree.

The driver was badly shaken but was uninjured.

Investigating officer, Pc Allan Discombe, said: "We are looking for any witnesses who may have seen a dark-coloured car, possible a Vauxhall Corsa which swerved to avoid a pothole causing the Fiesta to swerve and crash.

“We would also ask the Corsa driver to come forward so that details can be obtained.”

Anyone with information should contact Pc Discombe at the Stanway road policing unit on 101.

The people responsible for mending potholes should be aware of this - it will be too late when someone dies!

I have reported numerous pot holes on the ECC website, it gives you a reference number to go back and check on progress. But there never is any progress - just no action required. If I damage my car on any of these pot holes I will be putting a claim to the council. I fear for motorcylists - could be fatal if one of them were to hit a pot hole.

I'm disgusted that there are many pot holes which still havent been filled. On my journey to work I drive past loads and I'm on the main roads.

Drive slowly and you should be able to avoid the potholes.
.
The local Tories, who have overwhelming control of the ocuntyu council, have just delivered a leaflet to me claiming that they are fixing all the potholes.
Hold them to it.

Perhaps they can start with Berechurch Road and then move on form there.
